I support and adhere to the Pricing and Ethical Guidelines as set forth in the 8th Edition of the "Handbook of the Graphic Artists Guild".

As a creator of original art work for sale and for publication, my works are protected by U.S. copyright law and infringements are subject to legal action. However, in the case of illustration, I sell rights in varying degrees, depending upon the level of compensation offered, the ownership of the original work, its intended use, shelf life, etc. Unless sold and confirmed in writing, all rights are reserved. Upon sale of original works, only the work itself is sold, all reproduction rights are reserved.

Digital work submitted on disks or over a network for distribution is a special case, because it is so easily modified and copied. If I am the sole creator of these files, I do not allow the art work to be added to, colored or otherwise manipulated without consent. Nor can original work be copied and distributed on disks or a network without my consent or prior knowledge. I do allow them to be laser printed or photocopied in black and white and limited distribution in hard copy form, however.

By mutual advance agreement, I allow all of my work to be annotated, scaled or cropped to fit the needs of a purchaser's publication, but any material changes to original work by other artists or production people is not allowed without consent. I always, regardless of rights sold, reserve the right to reproduce non-confidential work for the purposes of self-promotion.
